From my Desk… A Walk down memory lane… As I reflect on the past year, I’m filled with a profound sense of nostalgia and gratitude. It’s incredible to think about the journey we’ve undertaken together at Countryside International School (CIS), and the milestones we’ve achieved along the way. This past year has been transformative for me personally, as I’ve grown not only as a principal but also as a mentor, a co-worker, a family head, and, most importantly, a learner. The growth and development I’ve experienced have culminated in this remarkable moment, where I can share our successes with a committee of scholars and professionals. When I think of our CIS scholars, I’m reminded of their incredible achievements across a wide range of fields. From academic excellence to personal development, from sports to social and emotional growth, our students have truly excelled. What I find most inspiring is their increasing empathy towards the environment and society—a testament to the core values of our Green School. At CIS, we take pride in nurturing these values and ensuring that our students not only succeed academically but also become compassionate and responsible individuals. Life skills are an integral part of our curriculum, helping students adapt to an ever-changing world. As technology advances, we recognize the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and aim to prepare our students for this new frontier. However, we believe that AI must benefit the students, and our approach ensures that technology complements human values. Beyond academics, we focus on fostering social behavior, empathy towards older generations, and effective interpersonal communication skills. By maintaining a balance between academics, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities, we create a harmonious environment where our students can thrive. Our success in the past year has established CIS as a unique academic institution with traditional values. Personally, my educational goal is to create a systematic plan where learning is enjoyable, even as our students mature into good Samaritans. The use of SAMRT (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-based) goals has been instrumental in achieving this. It allows us to set realistic study plans, emphasizing reading and writing skills, as well as a passion for math, to prepare our students for future success. We also embrace creative learning through simulations, providing cultural competency education, building teamwork, and appreciating tradition. This approach ensures that our students are well-equipped to meet the diverse challenges of the modern world. These memories from the past year fill me with boundless confidence and bring a smile to my face. I am so proud of our CIS family, and I wish all of you the best of luck in the coming year.
